The required birth date and ZIP protect access to a personalized result; they do not turn the service into an open voter directory.
Two Hyattsville Voter Lookups
Prince George's County provides a second official route. The county voter lookup accepts a birth date plus five-digit ZIP, or a Voter ID. It says its data is refreshed weekly. The state tool's daily update makes it the stronger first check, while the county service is a useful fallback during a state-site problem or when a county-specific path is easier.
The two update cycles can briefly produce different results. That does not prove an error in either voter record. Check whether a name, address, or registration update is still moving through the system. Do not treat an inactive label as automatic removal or a final statement that the person cannot vote. Maryland's list-maintenance process can include notice and waiting steps. A mismatch can also reflect a former registered name, old ZIP, user entry error, or an update that has not posted.
Maryland Voter Record Inventory

Its listed fields include Voter ID, name, party, gender, residence and mailing addresses, active or inactive status, state and county registration dates, precinct and split, county, and several political districts. Confidential voter information. The full birth date entered for self-verification and Social Security numbers are not listed among the distributed voter-file fields. Election Law §3-506 also requires Safe at Home residence addresses to be suppressed. Voting history shows participation, never a person's ballot choices.
Hyattsville Voter File Options
Maryland offers more than one voter-data product. A precinct Walking List is a PDF sorted by street, odd or even side, and party. Other products cover mail-in applicants, early voting, provisional ballots, and cure activity, which concerns an effort to fix a ballot-envelope issue. Each has its own status, district, or processing fields.
The registered list can be limited to active records, a date range, party, or all records including inactive registrations. Included history adds a limited set of election columns to that list. Separate list-maintenance records concerning National Voter Registration Act accuracy programs are generally retained for at least two years and may be requested. Registration declinations and the identity of the agency through which a person registered are excluded. Current voter lists still follow their specific Election Law request route, not an ordinary city records request.

Limits on Hyattsville Voter Records
Election Law §3-506 ties the released voter file to the electoral process. Recognized purposes include voter registration, party formation, candidate qualification, petitions and ballot questions, election conduct, canvassing, recounts, ballot administration, and campaign finance. The rules exclude commercial solicitation and other non-electoral use.
The signed applicant oath bars distribution, sale, or transfer. The current form states that a violation is a misdemeanor punishable by 30 days to six months, a fine of up to $250, or both. It does not ask for a Maryland voter-registration number. Older claims that only a registered Maryland voter may apply should not be carried forward because a federal decision preempted that former limitation and the current form reflects the change.
Maryland's Safe at Home Address Confidentiality Program gives eligible survivors a legal substitute address and mail-forwarding service. Election agencies suppress an enrolled participant's residence from voter lists. The protection is prospective, so it cannot erase an address that was already public before enrollment.
Use only for the sworn purpose. Public availability does not authorize stalking, harassment, threats, impersonation, commercial outreach, or attempts to bypass a protected address.
Historic Prince George's Voter Registers
Present-day voter tools do not replace archival records. The Maryland State Archives holds Prince George's County Officers of Registration voters lists from 1868 through 1900, registration appeals from 1891, and removal affidavits in series spanning 1890 through 1940. These paper-era sources can support family history or document a historic residence and registration action.
Request an archival search by series, date, and name. Indexing may be incomplete, and an old register reflects the rules and boundaries of its own period. It should not be read as a current address source. Hyattsville streets and municipal geography also changed over time, so compare an archival entry with period maps, newspapers, or directories before concluding two similar names identify the same person.
Prince George's Voter Roll Scale
